For the Record
conversations over knitting
The stories we knit.
The words we knit.
A continuing national project to collate, record and wonder at the work and words of hand knitters today.
Leave a record of you, yourself, a knitter.
My major problem with the world is a problem of scarcity in the midst of plenty ... of people starving while there are unused resources ... people having skills which are not being used. - Milton Friedman, Economist, winner of a Nobel Prize for economic science & an advocate of free market economy.
Knitting is a beautiful and a welcome reminder of the boundless creativity and expression that can be created from, essentially, yarn and 2 sticks. It is a fabulous art.
It is also a challenging and diverse exploration of the tales the human soul needs to tell, and proof that sometimes fibre is the best medium with which to tell them.
