Thank you to everyone for being there; taking part, your ideas and knitting wisdom, sharing of projects, your art, heart and passion.
Aim: to create an environemnt of sharing; relaxed and inspiring hub/gathering.
There will be:
- Guidance; develop your technique, design, art, concepts -– the basics, taking you a little further; techniques into practice
- Showcasing place/space - for work, materials and equipment
- Film - 'edu-tainment': eg: as a learning tool/fun
- Share ware - exchange products/materials/yarn etc
New knitters,
experienced knitters,
people who can knit
but haven’t for years,
knitwear designers and artists.
What are you making?
- a place for new designers/artists to emerge,
- a distinct movement that draws on both historical skills and traditions,
- an open access event to find inspiration and exchange methods.
- to thoughtfully introduce ideas of good practice and standards with the aim of raising the profile of hand-knitting,
- to encourage links,
- to be an resource that encourages the inter-generational exchange of skills, and that honours those who have knitted before us.
