support, train and encourage knitters of all abilities to present their work in an environment of professionalism, to knit with confidence, to learn the skills of knitting development so they can become autonomous knitters in their own right.

produce 'live events' that challenge recognised assumptions about knitting; through supporting local and British enterprises, entrepreneurs,  yarn suppliers, local knitting shops/companies and mills – and provide a market-place for their stock/work/design in a creative and ‘theatrical’ environment.

encourage new designers/trainer and train new teachers.

explore the notion and concept of knitting as art and knitting as a traditional craft.

celebrate and encouraging people to learn about the history of knitting.

develop therapeutic groups based on knitting; working with, for example, The Blanket Box Scheme (community knitting group model) and Stitch Links (a psychology based research organisation) and others.

invite renowned and published knitters and writers to inspire and teach.  

work as an ‘ensemble’ – supporting the KNIT expo team and the volunteering help and advice (creative and administrative)  of varies levels of expertise

support; the impossible (challenging people in their knitting – practically and to dispel the myth that knitting is the perquisite of people of a certain age, gender, etc.), the un-known (encourage design development and exploration), the wonder that has not yet been discovered; value the unexplained.  

develop/devise and perform original/scripted works as a medium for teaching and to excite people about knitting and its associated projects – understand the power of performance as a tool for engagement and experience and discourse with respect to knitted work (art and/or design) and teaching the history of knitting.

understand mental blockages that occur when people no-longer trust in intuition and develop a mechanism /solutions to help people shift them.  

support creators to feel confident and excited about being ingenious.

develop and encourage a forum who hold, grow and maintain a strong tradition of good and original design.

present ideas, pose questions and provide perspectives in our work rather than dictate to an audience.
